Caution falling trees!

There is an increased risk of spontaneous fall of branches and trees throughout the National Park, where the laws of nature govern the formation and termination of trees. Enter the forest at your own risk!

Hiking

Even snow cover does not have to be an obstacle to a hiking trip to the mountains. You can walk on sufficiently hard snow without skis or snowshoes without falling. However, hikers must be aware, especially on groomed cross-country trails, that taking care of the tracks costs a lot of money in addition to effort. They should therefore move outside the prepared route - a trampled track makes the journey very unpleasant for all skiers.

In the Krkonoše Mountains, you may occasionally encounter a wolf. It is a top predator and generally shy toward humans, although young wolves may sometimes be curious. Please stay on marked trails, keep dogs on a leash, and remain calm if you encounter a wolf. A wolf will most likely not approach closer than about 30 meters, if you notice it at all. Do not approach wolves, do not try to attract them, and do not attempt to feed them. Give them time and space to move away.
