Museums

The Krkonoše National Park Management operates a network of museums whose mission is to document the past and present of this mountain region, preserve its documents for the future and make them accessible to the general public.

Krkonoše Museums – memory of the region

These include the Krkonoše Museum in Vrchlabí with its extensive natural history and historical and ethnographic exhibitions, the Krkonoše Museum in Jilemnice, which focuses on the western Krkonoše area, the history of Czech skiing, the personage of Jan Count Nepomuk Harrach and the work of landscape painter František Kaván. The Monument to Fallen Patriots in Paseky nad Jizerou, dedicated to the writer Věnceslav Metelka and the Krkonoše Violin School and the Šindelka Forestry and Hunting Exhibition in Harrachov and the Vápenka Museum in Horní Albeřice.
